Before North Texas was hit by all types of dark clouds and stormy stuff, the Pi Beta Phi butterflies clustered at Brook Hollow on Tuesday, April 25. The gathering of the sorority was its Style Show and Luncheon with fashions provided by Betty Reiter, Kid Biz/The Biz, MaryBeth, Mi Golondrina, Saint Bernard and Tootsies.
Instead of well-heeled professional models on the runway down the middle of the club’s ballroom, they simply tapped the sisterhood’s membership, both past, present and future.

As for the guests, it was a mix of Pi Phis and other sisterhoods including Sandra Estess, Tricia George, Aileen Pratt, Sue Justice, Nancy Dedman, Jill Smith, Annette Simmons, Sally Hoglund, Linda Perryman Evans and Mary Martha Pickens.

All were on board to support the Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi’s “Lifting Up Literacy’s” beneficiaries Aspire, Bridge Builders, Equest, For the Nations Refugee Outreach, Jubilee Park and community Center, Mi Escuilita Preschool, Readers 2 Leaders, Vickery Meadow Summer Reading Academy and Youth Believing In Change.

Dallas Alumnae Club Presidents/real-life sisters Suzanne Everbach and Natalie Siegel welcomed the sold-out crowd and introduced the day’s Honorary Co-Chairs Nancy Rogers Casteel, Prissy Gravely, Anne Monning and Karen Shutee and the Luncheon Co-Chairs Lale Diehl, Carolyn Goelzer and Daffan Nettle.
Then it was on with the fashion show, where the munchkins literally stole the show.
Immediately afterward, the guests adjourned to the Oak Room and Verandah for the Club’s fav pecan-crusted chicken breast on mesclun greens tossed with maple balsamic dressing with dried cherries and dried apricots followed by chilled chocolate souffle.
It was interesting to note that a collection of fashion was provided by Betty Reiter, who was doing double duty. Across town at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, her fashions were front and center for the Turtle Creek Association’s Azalea Luncheon fundraiser.
