While most folks are busy packing trunks for summer camp and tying down summer vacation plans, there are three gals who are planning on doing a heck of a lot of shopping in October. And they don’t plan to do it alone.
The trio is Katy Brooks, Sharon Lee Clark and Kameron Westcott, who will be tri-chairing The Family Place’s 31st Partners Card shop-athon fundraiser from Thursday, October 27, thru Sunday, November 5.
In addition to Bank of Texas returning as the presenting sponsor, longtime Family Place Board Member Tom McCollum will join the three moms in raising funds to help survivors of domestic violence by serving as honorary chair.
According to Sharon, “There are thousands of families who are unsafe in their own homes. As a mom of two boys, knowing the countless mothers and their little ones in Dallas who rely on The Family Place for life-saving help makes me feel so committed to this urgent cause.”
According to organizers, “The chairs met and built their friendship through fashion shopping for a cause, and have plans underway for several special Partners Card festivities, including events with StarPower in Southlake, Bachendorf’s in Dallas, and the annual kick-off celebration at NorthPark Center.”
With more than 700 North Texas retailers and restaurants participating and the Partners Cards going for $75, the hope is to haul in more than last year’s $1.2M.
While it’s a little too early to buy your Partners Card, the deadline for retailers to sign up is Friday, June 30.
Since its launch in 1993, the legendary extravaganza that’s timed perfectly for holiday gift shopping has “raised more than $21M.”
