Before folks start scramming these parts for summer getaways like St. John, Colorado and across the pond, 2023 Zoo To Do Co-Chairs Thai-lan Tran and Steven J. Roth and Dallas Zoo Board Chair Dawn Moore took over Gretchen and George Seay’s estate Sunday evening to announce Lyda Hill will serve as this year’s honorary chair and the plans for the Dallas Zoo’s “major source of funding.”
With travel at the top of everyone’s mind, it seemed only fitting that this year’s theme would be “Adventure Awaits,” with about 700 guests expected to graze around the Zoo’s grounds thanks to 30 stations provided by area chefs wrangled by Chef Brett Krafft and Honorary Chef Dan Landsberg.
Joining Thai-lan and Steven will be Host Committee Co-Chairs Marena and Roger Gault; Underwriting Committee Co-Chairs Alex Arellano and Ryan Gummer; Live Auction Committee Co-Chairs Diane and Hal Brierley, Grace Cook and Mary McDermott Cook; Big Board Chair Cindy Gummer; Silent Auction Committee Chair Chuck Steelman; Raffle Committee Co-Chairs Claudia Lode and Preston Hext; and Wine Guys Greg Hext, Preston Hext, Matthew Meadows and Michael Meadows.
The date for the wild fundraiser is set for Saturday, November 4, at the Dallas Zoo, with nary a tuxedo nor a ballgown expected to be in sight. It will be strictly safari chic (aka walk-about attire).
All types of tickets and other opportunities including a Conservation Hero Package are available here.
