Nexus Recovery Auxiliary Is Celebrating Moms And “All The Other Women In Our Lives” With Mothers’ Brunch

Apr 14, 2023 9:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

Just who says that the second Sunday in May is the only day that moms are celebrated? Evidently The Nexus Auxiliary is picking up what Mother’s Day launches on Sunday, May 14. The following Saturday (aka May 20), it will hold its Second Annual Mothers’ Brunch at the Dallas Country Club.

Along with Lili Luth and Laura Sahliyah co-chairing the event, Louise Hallam Collins will serve as honorary chair for “what will be a heart-warming brunch to celebrate mothers and all the women in our lives.”

According to Laura, “Our hope is that we can continue to bring awareness to the great work that is being done at Nexus Recovery Center, so they can continue to positively impact the lives of both women and their children.”

Proceeds from the Saturday brunch will “support the mission of Nexus Recovery Center and ensure that mothers with substance use disorders can receive needed services to rebuild their lives and heal alongside their children.”

As Nexus Recovery Center CEO Heather Ormand reminded, “The path of recovery can sometimes feel like an isolated journey that you are destined to walk along. Through the Mothers’ Brunch, the women and mothers at Nexus feel celebrated and supported which are key components in a successful recovery journey.”
