With the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Dallas President Jennifer Dix, Fashion Show and Luncheon Chair Kim Quinn and their committee assembling the mammoth collection of donated clothes for the Tuesday, May 16, fundraiser at the Meyerson, Salvation Army North Texas‘ Doing The Most Good Luncheon Co-Chairs Lisa Cooley and Lisa Singleton are all-systems charging ahead for the luncheon at the Hilton Anatole.
The Lisas, Underwriting Co-Chairs Claire and Dwight Emanuelson and Honorary Co-Chairs Annette Simmons and Amy Simmons Crafton have just announced the keynote speaker will be James Brown on Thursday, November 16, the week before Thanksgiving.
And, no, it’s not the late soul singer. As any football lover knows, James is the multi-award winning sportscaster (three-time Emmy Award sports broadcaster) who hosts “The NFL Today” on CBS and “Inside The NFL” on Showtime and was elected to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2020.
In addition to his on-air reputation, James is an ordained minister as well as an author of “Role of A Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living,” in which he share “lessons for readers to find fulfillment and significance.”
According to Salvation Army North Texas Major Paul McFarland, “We are honored to welcome James Brown at this important fundraising event to raise awareness of the needs focusing on our most vulnerable neighbors in North Texas.”
Funds raised by the luncheon will support services to combat poverty, addiction and homelessness in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Rockwall and Tarrant counties.
