Dallas Symphony Orchestra League President Cynthia Beiard had plenty on her plate with the DSOL Deb Presentation in February and the upcoming DSOL Savor The Symphony in April. But she still had time to open her home for Wilkinson Center‘s 2023 Can Do! Luncheon Patron Party on Wednesday, March 29. Here’s a report from the field:
Wilkinson Center’s 2023 Can Do! Luncheon Co-Chairs Liza Collins and Rachel Stephens, along with Honorary Chair Betty Regard and patron party hosts Cynthia and Brice Beaird, welcomed 40 sponsors and supporters including Nelda Cain Pickens, Deborah Bieritz, Leslie Diers, Jessica Hamlin and Lynn Fisher to a reception held in their honor on Wednesday, March 29, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, guests mingled as they enjoyed a selection of Chateaux Montelana wines courtesy of Jonathon Nicholson of Ventus, along with savory and sweet bites. Midway through the evening Executive Director Anne Reeder Corley gathered the crowd to thank them for their support of the upcoming 11th annual Can Do! Luncheon on Monday, April 3.
She added her gratitude to the Beaird’s, for opening up their home, as well as Honorary Chair Betty Regard and Co-Chairs Liza Collins and Rachel Stephens for their support of the event. She also recognized this year’s sponsors of the Can Do! Luncheon, which included presenting sponsor, The Rosewood Corporation.
In closing Reeder Corley announced this year’s Can Do! Award recipients, who will be recognized at the upcoming luncheon:
- Can Do! Award- Beth and Chuck Thoele for their continued generosity and unwavering support of Wilkinson Center and so many other nonprofits and organizations in Dallas. As well, Beth is a former chair of the Can Do!
- Can Do! Award will be presented to Celanese for their generosity and volunteer support of many Wilkinson programs, including food pantry service, senior lunch and learn, and adult education, as well as helping at events.
- Can Do! Award – Maricruz Lopez has been selected as the client award recipient of the 2023 Can Do! Award for her persistence and determination that enabled her to overcome barriers to achieve her goals and provide a better future for herself and her family.
- Kids Can Too! Award will recognize Ursuline Academy for their commitment to serving the greater Dallas community.
Reeder Corley then introduced Jonathon Nicholson who took a few minutes to share a brief history about Chateaux Montelana and the wines being served.
