The recent chill stoked up thoughts of the fall season, so it’s only natural that the Friends of the Dallas Public Library are lining up plans for their annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, October 26.
Already locked in is best-selling novelist/journalist/photographer Lynda Rutledge, whose first novel “Faith Bass Darling’s Last Garage Sale” was made into the film “Claire Darling” starring France’s award-winning actress Catherine Deneuve. Lynda’s latest work, “West With Giraffes,” was described by Booklist as a “larger-than-life story about the powers of animal magnetism and human connection… witty, charming and heartwarming.”
In addition to Lynda’s presentation, David M. Munson Sr., will be honored with the May Dickson Exall Award for his and his late wife Mona Munson‘s being “steadfast supporter of libraries and learning programs for young children. Those passions have combined in his generous sponsorship of the new Reading Ready Play Spaces in all of the Dallas Public Library’s 30 locations.”
