As drivers rushed home along Turtle Creek Boulevard, Turtle Creek Park Conservancy patrons gathered at Arlington Hall for the Patrons Circle Spring Fling celebrating the beauty of Turtle Creek Park and as a thank-you for their support on Wednesday, March 1, sponsored by neighbor Belmont Village Senior Living.

While Joan Ridley and City Councilmember Paul Ridley, TCPC Board Chair Bob Kriscunas, Board of Directors Peter Dauterman waiting for his wife Lynn Dauterman to arrive, Camille and Dave Fournier, Jourdan Smith with Jeff Broaddus, Jonathan Formanek and Andy Whitman settled down for a relaxed afternoon of chatting and checking out the goodies, Louise Griffeth made a brief appearance. It seems that she had an early call the next morning to fly down to Austin for the Bullock Museum’s Texas Independence Day Gala honoring Admiral William H. McRaven (U.S. Navy Retired) and Roger Staubach. Louise would hardly have time to unpack her bags before heading back home to celebrate her birthday on Saturday, March 4.
TCPC President/CEO Tiffany Divis reported that the Park was putting on its prettiest bonnet, complete with pink petunias from the Valentine’s Day fundraiser and azaleas throughout the grounds for the weeks leading up to the Easter At The Park, which hasn’t been held in three years.
In addition to the Park’s landscaping being a floral delight, she said that the Hibiscus Fountain in the creek that had been swept away during the recent flooding would be back in action for Easter, if not before.
