Despite a brisk, cold wind, this year’s Crystal Charity Ball‘s bus tour of its seven beneficiaries (After-School All-Stars, Buckner Children And Family Services, Fair Park First, Family Gateway, Metrocare Services, The Salvation Army of North Texas and YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas) on Thursday, February 16, may have been lacking visits with children, but it was an amazing opportunity for CCB members to see where the future lay throughout the area.
However, the first stop at Park South Family YMCA on Romine made up for the later stops that would be paved parking lots that would be transformed into a park, the demolition of a 70-year-old mental health facility making way for a state-of-the-art campus and hearing about programs that would benefit Dallas County children’s charities.
As the members turned the corner in the Y, there were rooms with toddlers playing games and getting ready for swim lessons. One of the youngsters popped into hospitable action leaving the room and thanking and hugging the committee members.
While the journey is being written up, check out the beneficiaries at MySweetCharity Photo Gallery.
