In the coming weeks, North Texas appears to have a couple of showstopping invasions by Broadway legends for area non-profits.
Kicking off the month will be Broadway Dallas Gala 2023 on Saturday April 1, at Fair Park’s Music Hall. Co-chaired by Jolie Humphrey and Gail Plummer with Honorary Co-Chairs Kathryn and Craig Hall, the night will include cocktailing, dining and “Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Stage.”

Adding to the night will be an after-party co-chaired by Emma Coppola and Jolie’s daughter Hannah Hunt.
Like 2021’s “Hamilton Gala,” “Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Stage” has all the energy and drama for another success for Broadway Dallas with proceeds benefiting the Give A Kid A Seat campaign and High School Musical Theater Awards Scholarship Program.
Tables and individual tickets are available here.
Over in the Big Apple, the Great White Way will witness the final curtain of “Phantom of the Opera” that’s had a 35-year run at NYC’s Majestic Theatre. But “Just For Show” is bringing two of Phantom’s lovers to downtown Dallas’ Majestic Theatre on Thursday, April 20, with “A Look Behind the Curtain: Songs and Stories from Broadway” with former “Phantom of the Opera” stars Sandra Joseph and Ron Bohmer on stage at the Majestic Theatre.

It’s a love story both on and off the stage. Sandra, who had a legendary run as Phantom’s Christine Daaé, and Ron, who among his numerous Broadway roles, was Phantom’s Phantom, “met and fell in love while starring in The Phantom of the Opera.” Five years later they were married, in June 2002. In addition to their Broadway roles, the gorgeous soprano and handsome tenor have performed together during keynotes and concerts.

Benefiting Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas, this year’s “Just For Show” is being co-chaired by Anita and Todd Chanon and Michael Kaufman and Durward Watson.
According to Jewish Family Service CEO Cathy Barker, “We are so excited to bring Sandra Joseph and Ron Bohmer to Dallas for what will be such a beautiful, fun and memorable evening. They are delightful and extremely talented and bring a new focus to our Just for Show event, which previously featured comedy. Without question, our attendees will be captivated by their talent. This amazing evening will raise critical dollars for our mission to provide effective and accessible, whole-person care that promotes lifelong self-sufficiency and well-being for the Greater Dallas community.”
Tickets are going for $150 each here.
