2023 AWARE Affair Co-Chairs Lori Bush, Pamela Musgrove and C’Mone Wingo have just revealed the recipients of the AWARE fundraiser’s awards on Friday, April 14.
Past AWARE Affair Co-Chair Stephanie Bray, who has been involved with AWARE since 2014 following the death of her mother due to Alzheimer’s in 2013, will receive the Amy Osler Spirit of Education Leadership Award. The presentation of the award to Stephanie is especially poignant since it was named after her friend of 29 years, who passed away on November 30, 2022, after a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Another past AWARE Affair Co-Chair Jolie Humphrey, who was also a past AWARE president as well as in leadership roles for numerous other North Texas non-profits in her “charity-chick career,” will be presented with the Founder’s Spirit Award.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “An Artful Evening Of Advocacy Fighting Alzheimer’s,” the evening of cocktailing, dining, bidding and award-presenting will take place at Lighthouse ArtSpace with Taylor Hearn and Venise and Larry Stuart serving as honorary co-chairs.
Tickets are starting for $500 here. Funds raised through the evening will benefit the 2023 AWARE beneficiaries Baylor Scott and White Dallas Foundation, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, C.C. Young, Center For BrainHealth, Christian Care Communities And Services, Dallas Arboretum And Botanical Society, For Love And Art, Foundation For The Callier Center And Communication Disorders, Jewish Family Service, Juliette Fowler Communities, NorthPark Presbyterian Church, Plano Symphony Orchestra, Songs and Smiles, Stomping Ground Theater and Training Center, Texas Winds Musical Outreach, The Senior Source, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Wilshire Baptist Church and the Myrna D. Schlegel AWARE Scholarship Fund.
