Handy Hands Gathered To Support 2023 Healing Hands Luncheon For HHM Health’s Clients

Behind the hands that heal are other hands that raise funds to support medical care for those in need.

Such a fundraising group came together today at 2023 Healing Hands Luncheon Co-Chair Shannon Graham’s home to personalize letters sharing news about the HHM Health fundraiser at Dallas Arts District Mansion on Friday, April 21, with former Olympic gold medalist and four-time cancer survivor Scott Hamilton as the guest speaker.

Since Shannon’s dining room table had been turned into a billiards room, the ladies including Co-Chair Julia Sands Cunningham, HHM Health Chief Development Officer Jean Buys, Julia’s Hockaday classmate Brittani Hite and Stacy Burke settled around the breakfast table and the kitchen bar counter to add messages and emojis to the letters that were destined to hit the post office later in the day.

Honorary Chair Tucker Enthoven wasn’t able to join the day’s signing due grandbaby sitting duties in San Francisco. This involvement with HHM Health is not Tucker’s first. It was during her chairing the 2020 Crystal Charity Ball that HHM Health (formerly known as Healing Hands Ministries) was a beneficiary receiving $650,000 for the expansion of the third floor’s Children’s Health Center.

If your snail-mail is slower than usual, the letter reports that just last year, 57,000 patients used HHM Health’s nine clinics including behavioral health, dental, three pediatric clinics, two family practice clinics, a women’s clinic and the Rosewood Vision Center.

It also points out that during that same time period 60% of Texas families could not seek medical care due to cost, and about one in five people in the state have no health insurance. Unfortunately, Dallas is one of the most uninsured cities in the nations.

With sponsorships starting at $1,000, funds raised through the luncheon will support HHM Health’s clinics in northeast Dallas providing much needed patient care.
