While the Dallas Arboretum gardeners and groundskeepers are preparing for the transition from 2022 holidays to 2023 Dallas Blooms that officially launches on Saturday, February 25, the 2023-2024 leadership and members of the Arboretum’s board have just been announced.
Heading up the board as chair for a two-year term is Will McDaniel with Regina Montoya taking over the role of chair-elect.
In accepting his new role, Will said, ““I look forward to leading the Dallas Arboretum, which has been an attraction year-round for locals and visitors. From Dallas Blooms, Autumn at the Arboretum and Holiday at the Arboretum to thousands of field trips for students and a research garden, we continue to open our garden for more than a million who visit.”
Joining Will and Regina and the current board members are new members Mike Anglin, Gilbert Aranza, Nan Faith Arnold, Derwin Broughton, Kathy Gudmundsson, Jane Hamilton, Kama Koudelka, Sharon Lyle, Eric Paulson, Anjulie Ponce, Elizabeth Ramirez Washka, Wade Rugenstein, Andres Ruzo, David Sassano, Scott Trapp and Joan Walne, who will serve three-year terms.
According to New Board Member Selection Chair Gloria Tarpley, “These new board members are representative of our community and will bring their expertise in their respective fields to help us continue to be a garden that welcomes all.”
