The JW Marriott Dallas Arts District Hotel is just on the verge of opening and it’s already landed its first North Texas fundraiser — The Family Place’s ReuNight 10th Anniversary.

Co-chairing the evening of dining and bidding are Brooke Hortenstine, Margaret Stafford and Piper Wyatt, all of whom know how to put the “fun” into fundraising.

According to JW Marriott Dallas Arts District General Manager Mike Culver, “The Family Place is a great organization supporting members of our community in times of need. We are thrilled they chose our hotel as a partner for their annual gala. This event is a perfect opportunity for our hotel to begin what will be a long-lasting positive impact in our local area.”

With the event taking place on Thursday, May 18, the trio has already arranged for Todd Fiscus to handle the look of the night with al fresco cocktails and a “celebrity chef” in charge of the menu.
As for what will be up for bid, they ladies are keeping that under wraps. Regardless, funds raised through the event will support The Family Place’s mission to “empower survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.”
As The Family Place CEO Mimi Sterling said, “On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. And 38 percent of Texas women have experienced intimate-partners violence in their lifetime. This is why we are incredibly grateful for our co-chairs’ support and willingness to plan a memorable, meaningful fundraising event aimed at creating brighter futures for survivors of domestic violence.”
Sponsorship beginning at $5,000 are available here.
