Since the Pony Express isn’t still around, 2023 Day At The Races Co-Chair Katherine Wyker is using the U.S. Postal service to deliver the news about the Turtle Creek Conservancy fundraiser.
After a roundtable of letter signing by Katherine, Underwriting Chair Gail Corder Fischer, Honorary Co-Chair Olivia Hasty, Ann Dyer, Sarah Dodd and Laura Floyd, TCC President Tiffany Divis and her team hustled the letters to the mailbox.
Just in case you haven’t gotten yours, here’s the POA: The watch partying will be presented by Truist Bank taking place on Saturday, May 6, timed around the 149th Kentucky Derby from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Well, duh. When else would a Day At The Races take place?
Katherine and her Co-Chair/husband Austin Wyker and Olivia and her Honorary Co-Chair/husband Charles Hasty have arranged for “influential bloggers” Tanya Foster and Alicia Wood to curate a “unique VIP arrival experience.”
Of course, there will be a spirits tasting garden, Southern-inspired cuisine, dancing and extraordinary people watching.
If you opt to be an underwriter, you’ll have such perks as invites to a Kick-Off Party and a Patron Party, as well having the best seats in the house.
And speaking of the house, the tent leading from Arlington Hall looking out at Turtle Creek will be air-conditioned. After all, one just wants to keep their cool until the race gets underway.
As a part of the program, plans call for the memory of longtime and dedicated TCC supporters Pierce Allman and Max Wells to be honored.
If your letter hasn’t arrived, not to worry. Just go here, get your reservation and start shopping for your outfit so you’ll be right at home during the “run for the roses.”
