With blues skies and ideal temperatures, the New Friends New Life Annual Luncheon Platinum Reception took full advantage of the beautiful weather at Connie and Marc Siegel’s Volk Estate contemporary homestead on Wednesday, November 2. Thanks to the open layout, guests easily went from check-in upon arrival at the circular driveway into the open, towering living room onto the backyard grounds with the pool and a trio of strings.
While waiting for the arrival of Honorary Co-Chairs Matrice and Ron Kirk, Luncheon Co-Chairs Kristi Sherrill Hoyl, Melissa Sherrill Martin and Katherine Wynne were joined poolside by Connie and Mark as their husbands Ron Hoyl and Ross Martin and Wynne son Brendan Wynne watched atop the stairs leading to the terrace.
Longtime New Friends New Life supporters Ashlee and Chris Kleinert were doing double duty also representing Ashlee’s folks Nancy Ann and Ray Hunt.
In discussing the return to in-person gatherings, Ashlee and past New Friends New Life Luncheon Co-Chair Jane Rose agreed that it was like emerging from a coma. But they added that as upsetting as the pandemic had been, the period had allowed time for reflection and to appreciate their blessings.
On hand to greet NFNL Luncheon keynoter Julia Ormand were NFNL Executive Director Bianca Davis and her staffers including Jessica Brazeal, Vanessa Garnica, Susan McKelvy and Priva Murphy. Swathed in a multi-color scarf and black coat, Julia would find that combination very useful for the NFNL fundraiser on Friday, November 4, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel when a thunderstorm would bring in a cold front for the area.
