According to The Family Place Chairman of the Board Harold H. Ginsburg,

“This holiday season, the three shelters at The Family Place will be full of family violence survivors working hard to escape abuse and poverty. While in the care of the hardworking staff, everything clients need is provided—food, clothing, transportation, and unwavering support.
“This is a pervasive problem in our community—one in three Texans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Girls and young women between the ages of 16 and 24 experience the highest rate of intimate partner violence, almost triple the national average.
“As chairman of the board of The Family Place, I know that every dollar contributed counts and helps those suffering from family violence start new lives.
“$250 pays for two weeks of daycare for a child at The Family Place Safe Campus.
“$750 provides a week of shelter for one survivor.
“$1,000 buys 500 meals for families living in our emergency shelters.
“$2,500 funds our 24-hour crisis hotline for one week.

“I wish that those reading this will join me, and my fellow board members, in supporting The Family Place and funding our comprehensive programs to help survivors build brighter futures and better lives. Families are relying on our generosity to make sure our lifesaving and life-changing programs continue.
