According to KidLinks Co-Executive Director Leigh Trevino,
“Since our humble beginnings nearly forty years ago, KidLinks has impacted more than 410,000 children and caregivers nationally, and remains more dedicated than ever in championing healing, hope, and happiness for children and families. Through performing arts and digital media, therapeutic music initiatives, and free to low-cost music therapy programs, KidLinks is providing valuable experiences and resources for families across North Texas and beyond and has served more than 99,000 children and caregivers in local DFW hospitals and care centers since inception.
“The mother of one of our music therapy client says, ‘Without KidLinks, I’m not sure where our son’s speech would be. Music is embedded in him. As adults, when we hear songs, they can sometimes make us feel happy, or sad, or relaxed; whatever the mood we’re in. Just imagine what music does for these kids? ECI of Texas recommended KidLinks, and it was one of the best recommendations of our lives!’
“My wish this holiday season is that you join us on Monday, February 27, at Armstrong Fieldhouse at SMU as we host the 13th Annual Symphony of Chefs, an evening of culinary composition benefiting KidLinks. The culinary evening welcomes over 20 chefs including Monarch Restaurants Executive Chef Eric Dreyer, Ocean Prime Executive Chef Brandon Moore, Nick and Sam’s Steakhouse Executive Chef John Kleifgen, Café Momentum Chef de Cuisine Aaron Collins, Bistro 31’s Executive Chef Henry Johnson, Fearing’s Restaurant and Rattlesnake Bar Chef de Cuisine Michael Matis and Asian Mint Restaurant Group Founder/Chef Nikky Phinyawatana plus many more! Funds raised from the event directly support the growth of the numerous direct services provided by KidLinks and the creation of content that improve the daily experiences of hospitalized and special needs children when they need it most.
“The annual evening’s experience will begin with wine, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a seated four-course gourmet meal prepared tableside by your personal chef and concludes with a sweet dessert experience. Throughout the night, meaningful musical moments will be shared as you dine with family, friends and colleagues. During the night you’ll also have an opportunity to support KidLinks via the silent auction, paddle raise and a rousing live auction of chef packages and experiences!
“Please consider supporting KidLinks by becoming a sponsor or donating an experience package or item to the silent and live auction. Your contribution will ensure that KidLinks is able to put smiles on the faces of children everywhere!
