After a major renovation and recovery from the freeze damage of February 2021, Fair Park’s Hall of State glowed beautifully inside and out for the Dallas Historical Society Centennial Gala on Saturday, November 12.
With Texas legends like James W. Fannin and Stephen F. Austin observing from their pedestals in the Hall of Heroes, Gala Co-Chairs Kristen Sanger and Lisa Singleton arranged for the nearly 200 black-tied types to have the opportunity to check out everything from the “Easter eggs,” like the story of Sarah and Patrick Henry Herndon, to the ginormous Thomas Feely Jr.’s Texas Liberty Forever! diorama of the final day of the Alamo.
In the crowd were relative newcomers to Texas like New England transplants Christina and Chris Durovich as well as Joe Dealey Jr. and Adrienne Akin Faulkner, whose forefathers were part of Texas’ tapestry.
While the post is being finished up, check out the people, statues and Texas Liberty Forever! at MySweetCharity Photo Gallery.
