JUST IN: Micki And Mike Rawlings To Be Honored At Spirit Of Generations Award Luncheon

Nov 3, 2022 1:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

The Senior Source’s Spirit of Generations Awards Luncheon is a loving roast, with the honorees usually laughing and loving it the most. But Luncheon Chair Christie Carter has lined up a couple who are just primed for teasing and celebrating.

Who are they? Why, former Dallas first couple Micki and Mike Rawlings!

Since they’ve been out of the proverbial limelight recovering from years of leading Dallas from 2011 to 2019, the luncheon on Thursday, March 9, at the Anatole, will be a great occasion to see and honor them.

The Senior Source*

The Award is “annually given to an individual or group of individuals who have contributed significantly in thoughts, words and deeds to all generations of the Dallas community-past, present, and future.” Thanks to the luncheon, funds will support The Senior Source’s mission “to empower active seniors to live with purpose and protect vulnerable older adults.”

Sidenote: During his tenure as Dallas’ mayor, Micki’s mother lived with them before her death in 2016. Each night upon returning home from work, Mike would go directly upstairs to visit with his mother-in-law.

Tickets starting at $275 with sponsorships ranging from $2,750 to $100,000 are available here.
