The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League‘s 2022 Fashion Notes Co-Chairs Sharon Lee Clark and Kira Nasrat and DSOL President Cynthia Beaird decided to change things up a bit this year for the annual fundraising on Thursday, October 13. After years of holding the event at the Fairmont Dallas, they opted to move the whole kit-and-caboodle to Virgin Hotels Dallas.
But some things stayed the same, like having DSOL members and their kids on the runway, the presentation of the Fashion Award and having longtime Dallas Symphony Orchestra supporters as honorary co-chairs. Here’s a report from the field:
Event Co-Chairs Sharon Lee Clark and Kira Nasrat kicked-off the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League 9th Annual Fashion Notes Luncheon and Style Show on Thursday, October 13, at a fresh new venue. The sold-out event was held in the Virgin Hotels Dallas at its premiere location in the Design District providing a youthful vibe for the event.
“We are delighted to celebrate elegantly bold fashion and timeless music in this incredible new venue,” said DSOL President Cynthia Beaird.
Highlighting fashion design and the Dallas Symphony Community, the event started with a morning reception and raffle followed by a fashion presentation and luncheon live auction.
The crowd was dressed ultra-trendy. In attendance were many young movers and shakers including Amber Nardo, Piper Young, Katie Kennemer, Kelly Weisz, Kristin Brezinski.
Cynthia Beaird introduced the honorary co-chairs, mother-daughter duo Patsy Donosky and Janie Donosky Condon, longtime supporters of the Dallas Symphony and well known throughout the Dallas arts community. Patsy and Janie are the daughter and granddaughter of the late Juanita and Henry Miller, a philanthropic family that has been instrumental in transforming the DSO and the Dallas arts community through the years with their support.
This year’s featured Fashion Designer Award was presented to Lele Sadoughi, who started the craze of decorated headbands which adorned the heads of many guests in the audience and on the runway models. Lele attended the event with family members in support: her mom Jeri Finkelstein and her daughter Shanna Bygott-Webb.
Stunning fashions from St. John were modeled in a runway presentation by League members and their families, past and present DSOL Debutantes, and members of the DSO Family.
There were many models on the runway who have walked the runway before. The DSO’s Allison Brodnax is usually sharing the runway with her mother-in-law Maurine Brodnax and two young kids in tow. This year, no children were present as Tucker Broadnax and Pepper Broadnax were in school. Claire Catrino has also walked the runway with her young daughters in past years but came solo this year. Repeat models Ellie Price and Lucy Price are the young daughters of Laurie Price. The sisters modeled last year and again stole the hearts of the audience with their stylish moves and confidence on the catwalk.
The event was sponsored by the print and digital local luxury lifestyle media sponsor “PaperCity” and Virgin Hotels Dallas.
