The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center is branching out into the retailing business. Thanks to the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Board of Directors’ approval, it’s all systems go for The Bridge Travel Essential Store to open for business in Terminal A at DFW International Airport.
Scheduled to open in April, the 800-square-foot store will “showcase the region by highlighting partnerships with local markets and up-and-coming businesses.”
This social entrepreneur project resulted from Gideon Toal Management Services’ Dr. Alvin Brown and R.S. Harris LLC’s Ronnie Harris working together for more than 18 months.
According to Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, “Though this creative partnership, one of our city’s most important homelessness services centers will receive a major boost that will help people off our streets and back on their feet.”
Thanks to “strategic conversations with more than 50 major players in both the City of Fort Worth and the City of Dallas,” the store “is estimated to generate $200,000 annually in revenue for The Bridge, while also providing jobs through Fort Worth-based Presbyterian Nighr Shelter’s Upspire workforce program.”
So, when you’re traveling via DFW International Airport in April, drop by Terminal A and check out your essentials courtesy of The Bridge.
