While Brook Hollow’s lush green grass was growing under four-legged therapists Amigo’s and Artie’s hooves today welcoming guests for the Equest Women’s Auxiliary Fashion Show and Luncheon, that wasn’t the case for Equest Women’s Auxiliary Founder Louise Griffeth. It seems that no grass growing can keep up with the blonde.
She had already arranged for the leadership for the next two years of the Auxiliary’s fundraising.
Even the most experienced fundraisers were taken aback by Louise’s forward thinking and lockdown of leadership.
Here’s the game plan: 2021 Equest Gala Co-Chair Katherine Wyker will serve as president of the Auxiliary with Kimber Hartmann, who had served as 2022 Luncheon Chair Shannon Graham’s underwriting chair, with a name to be announced co-chairing the luncheon. For 2024, Katherine and Louise’s artist daughter-in-law Annie Griffeth, who co-chaired the 2019 Equest Gala with husband Teal Griffeth, will co-chair the Luncheon.
Confused? Not to worry. Each of the ladies is well aware of the children and vets who benefit from their efforts and are champing at the bit to provide more support.
While Brook Hollow’s Event Planning Director Charles Redin was amazed that Equest was already scheduled for October 3, 2023, on the Club’s schedule, there are those hoping that the chicken pecan will be back on the POA’s menu.
