According to Camp Summit Development Associate Keturah Gray,
“For 75 years, Camp Summit has developed and delivered outdoor camping programs for children, adults and seniors with disabilities. In our barrier-free camp in Paradise, Texas, we offer a wide variety of traditional camp activities throughout the entire year. With week-long, weekend, and single day sessions, we are proud to be one of the few camps in the United States that offers a residential, ‘sleep away’ camping experience for individuals of all ages and disabilities. During their time at camp, campers enjoy fully adaptable programs like fishing, archery, ropes challenge course, swimming in our beach entry pool, nature, and many more activities. And what’s a week of camping without enjoying s’mores?! Camp Summit has plenty of those!
“It’s not only about those remarkable campers! Parents and caretakers enjoy their much-needed respite too. A mother of one of the campers recently mentioned, ‘Camp Summit is important to our whole family as it gives us some freedom to do things that we can’t when we are with our child. And, Camp Summit is important to our child! It gives him time away from us to be independent and have fun!’
“Caregiver Inc.’s Annual Boots and Bandanas Dinner and Auction presented by Berry Family Services, Benefiting Camp Summit will be at Edison’s Dallas again this year. “Take it from one of Camp Summit’s Board members and Co-Chair Mrs. Devetta James – ‘Camp Summit is a special place for our campers and their parents. It is a place where the campers have so much fun and where the parents trust they will be safe and cared for as they are at home. We are grateful to our sponsors and supporters that allow us the opportunity to provide this for our campers and would love for you to be a part of it too. We hope to see you at the Boots and Bandanas Annual Dinner and Auction to help support us in continuing to provide this wonderful experience and program.’
