At last night’s Each Moment Matters Luncheon patron party benefiting Forefront Living Foundation, Luncheon Co-Chairs Tucker Enthoven and her mom Julie Ford were actually ebullient over developments that had taken place in the previous 48 hours.
t seems that scheduled Melissa Gilbert of “Little House on the Prairie” fame had bailed. Instead of holding a pity-party, the mom-daughter team managed to lock down American physician/author/storyteller/burn survivor/advocate for patient-centered care Dr. BJ “Bruce” Miller to be the keynoter for the fundraiser at the Hilton Anatole on Friday, September 23.
According to Tucker, BJ is “one of the pre-eminent speakers on patient-centered, care, palliative and end-of-life care today.”
Despite being a triple amputee survivor, BJ’s an old hand in presentations with his TED Talk “What Really Matters at the End of Life” and appearance with Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow, plus his Academy Award-nominated Neflix’s 2018 short documentary, “End Game.”
The Princeton graduate/ Harvard Medical School palliative medicine fellow is currently president/CEO of Mettle Health, “a company he co-founded with the aim to provide personalized, holistic consultations for any patient or caregiver and serves as the Dream Foundation honorary medical chair, the only national dream-granting organization for terminally-ill adults.”
Tucker admitted that having BJ was a definite windfall.
Tickets may still be available for this occasion that provides insight into adjusting to the final life lessons.
