According to Communities Foundation of Texas Senior VP, Chief Giving and Community Impact Officer Monica Christopher,
“It is almost that time of year in North Texas – North Texas Giving Day season! We are so excited that Communities Foundation of Texas’ 14th annual North Texas Giving Day is back, beginning with early giving in just a few weeks on Thursday, September 1.
“The Giving Day yard signs are spread out across the Metroplex, concerts and events are being planned, and nonprofits are preparing to raise as much money as they can so they can continue the important work they do for our communities.
“This year’s giving day will take place on Thursday, September 22. Many things are bigger in Texas and that includes the generosity of others: Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. Each year we are honored to mobilize both the givers and the nonprofits so that together we can create a lasting impact in the communities where we live, work and play.
“The day wouldn’t be a success without all of the amazing donors. Every year we get to experience the spirit of North Texans’ generosity when thousands of donors give together to elevate the nonprofits serving North Texas. This year, we’re particularly excited to see how each person taps into their personal ‘why’ and discovers what areas they care most about. We know that there is no shortage of causes to support and give to in our community, and we want to help everyone find their passion, so that they can give with purpose. You can help support area nonprofits by giving wisely to the community by supporting one or more of the 3,000+ local nonprofits and causes you care about in one easy-to-use platform, NorthTexasGivingDay.org.
“We couldn’t do this without our sponsors! In addition to the generosity of MySweetCharity, who helps tell the stories of participating nonprofits each year, we have received sponsorship support from Amazon, Communities Foundation of Texas, Hunt Cares, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, The Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation, Sid W. Richardson Foundation, Charles Schwab Bank Southwest, The Dallas Foundation, Whole Foods Market, Amon G. Carter Foundation, The Meadows Foundation, Granville C. and Gladys H. Morton Fund, Lyda Hill Philanthropies, Allstate,Clara Blackford Smith & W. Aubrey Smith Charitable Foundation, Bank of America N.A., Popolo Family Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas, Texas Women’s Foundation, Energy Transfer, Scheels, The Addy Foundation and Jain Foundation Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas. In-kind sponsors include On-Air Media, Texas Live!, Texadia Systems, AT&T Discovery District, Reunion Tower and Grandscape.
“In 13 years, North Texas Giving Day has generated $441 million for the community. Last year, we broke another national record, raising more than $66 million with the support of over 100,000 donors. Helps us do it again, North Texas! Starting September 1, find your passion and give with purpose on www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org.”
