According to Each Moment Matters Luncheon Co-Chairs Tucker Enthoven and Julie Ford,
“Navigating life’s final passage is a profound experience for individuals and families. Whether in the home or at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center, Faith Presbyterian Hospice helps that transition become less about loss and more about comfort, enrichment, love and celebration.
“Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated actress, director, producer and New York Times bestselling author Melissa Gilbert will serve as keynote speaker for the organization’s 13th annual Each Moment Matters Luncheon on Friday, September 23, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.
“The programs and services made possible through the Each Moment Matters Luncheon provide for the care of unfunded patients as well as the special programming and clinical services that we call the ‘Faith Difference.’
“As an active hospice advocate, with children’s hospice and palliative care being a cause especially dear to her heart, Ms. Gilbert decided to “dedicate my life to ensuring that all chronically and terminally-ill children get to live and die with gentleness, dignity and the grace that they deserve.”
“Ms. Gilbert’s work in hospice advocacy includes service as board president for the Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition and president of the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California. Ms. Gilbert is also a past recipient of the Humanitarian Leadership Award, bestowed by the National Hospice Foundation, for her work on behalf of children facing life-limiting conditions.
“The Faith Caring Fund provides charitable care, children’s grief support, end-of life therapies and specialized clinical in-patient services. In 2021, the Faith Caring Fund helped supply extraordinary care and therapies, including:
- “4,994 days of charitable care for patients who would have otherwise not received hospice services
- “More than 3,500 music and massage therapy sessions
- “586 children received children’s grief support services
- “Specialized clinical services that allowed Faith to care for some of the most medically complex patients at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center.
