According to Stars And Stripes Luncheon and Red-Carpet Movie Premiere Co-Chairs Annie and Teal Griffeth, “Sons of the Flag is marking our 10th Anniversary and we hope you will celebrate with us!
“We are honored to present the 2022 Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Red-Carpet Event benefiting Sons of the Flag. For those of you who are already friends of Sons of the Flag, you know that our organization was founded in 2012 by former Navy SEAL Ryan “Birdman” Parrott in response to learning of minimal advancements in burn care advancements since the Vietnam Era.
“Today, Sons of the Flag is revolutionizing burn care and quality of life for veterans, first responders, and families. Some of our programs include funding burn fellowships at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital, a surgical program called Mission: Reconstruct Freedom, capital funding for burn unit equipment, fire prevention, and direct burn survivor support.
“There is an excellent opportunity for anyone to support this incredible cause by supporting the luncheon Monday, November 7, at Dallas Country Club. In our midst, will be heroes from ‘The Greatest Generation.’ We cannot tell you how thrilled and blessed we are to have veterans representing every war since WWII, to tell their collective stories of battle and heroism. Louise and Guy Griffeth are serving as honorary co-chairs.
“A distinguished group of keynote speakers includes Thomas DeCarlo and Peter Bielskis, who are WWII veterans; Jim Nicholson and Doyle Vergon, who served in the Korean Conflict; Dennis Bielskis and Gary Lane, both Vietnam veterans; Gary Tanner, who served during the Cold War; Jon Hyman, who served in the Persian Gulf; Leroy Petry, who served in Afghanistan and FDNY 9/11 Firefighter John Walters III.
“A special benefit included in most sponsorship levels are movie passes to the Red-Carpet Movie Premiere and patron party on that prior evening, Sunday, November 6, at the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University.
“We truly appreciate our donors for making these Burn Survivor programs possible through their generous gift. Please join us in this important cause by visiting sonsoftheflag.org.”
