The 2023 Crystal Charity Ball’s launch for Dallas County children’s non-profit beneficiaries is just around the corner. 2023 CCB Chair Angie Kadesky and Charity Selection Chair Ola Fojtasek have announced the dates for the program’s charity selection process.
While the applications will go online Thursday, September 1, veterans strongly recommend attending the “brief application orientation” at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, at Communities Foundation of Texas.
The gathering will provide advice on how to apply. Even old-timers attend the annual meeting as a refresher on the process.
Besides, there will still be plenty of time to fill out that form which is due in the Crystal Charity Ball office at noon on Friday, October 14. With snail-mail dragging and Monday, October 10, being a postal holiday, it might be wise to hand-deliver the application. Sorry but no email applications will be accepted.
By the way, before getting started know that each agency must:
- Serve children in Dallas County.
- Have had a 501 (c)(3) designation for at least three years.
- Have provided services in Dallas County for at least three years.
- Have governance and control of funds located in Dallas County.
Once the forms are in-house, the vetting process gets underway with the 2023 beneficiaries being selected on Thursday, February 2. That’s when the CCB committee of 100 volunteers shifts gears from finding their beneficiaries to raising funds for them. Since its 1952 start, CCB has provided more than $175M for 100+ Dallas County children’s charities.
Just this time last year eight beneficiaries ( The Agape Clinic, Baylor Oral Health Foundation, Behind Every Door, Educational First Steps, Family Compass, Hope Supply Co., Southwestern Medical Foundation and United To Learn) started their journey to be selected and, boy, are they glad they did! As a result they’ll be receiving $7,180,505 resulting from the 2022 CCB fundraising.
