JUST IN: Errika Flood-Moultrie And Renita Joyce Smith To Co-Chair Chick Lit Luncheon In September

Jun 14, 2022 3:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

After last year’s fall version of its Chick Lit Luncheon, the Community Partners of Dallas has opted to return to September for its 16th annual fundraiser.

With Lara and Dr. Robert Tafel also returning as presenting sponsor, the 2022 Chick Lit Luncheon co-chairs for the mega luncheon at the Hilton Anatole on Friday, September 30, will be Errika Flood-Moultrie and Renita Joyce Smith.

According to CPD President/CEO Paige McDaniel, “We are so thrilled to have Errika and Renita as our 2022 co-chairs for this year’s luncheon. Both are devoted to the community, giving their time, leadership and talents to many organizations and CPD is certainly fortunate to have them at the helm of our largest annual fundraiser.”

In addition to serving as director of operations for Dallas, Truth and Racial Healing, Errika is the founder of ConnectThree, a Dallas boutique consulting firm delivering coaching, connection and capacity building for non-profits of Dallas and an adjunct professor for Tulane University. She also serves as board chair of Promise House and a board member for Soul Rep Theater.

As Errika explained, “I’ve been working in the nonprofit sector my entire career and at this point that’s a long time. As a leader in the space I get the opportunity to work alongside organizations that are making a difference in the lives of communities.  There is no greater need for serving community than serving the youth. Supporters of the Chick Lit Luncheon provide for the needs of our future teachers, firefighters, hairstylists, nonprofit leaders, the list goes on. . .this is necessary and I’m here to do the necessary.”

On the boards of Chase’s Place and First3Years, Renita is a principal at Pariveda Company’s Thought Ensemble and serves as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging strategist. She is a member of CPD’s women’s auxiliary, the Junior League of Dallas, The Village Giving Circle, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Leadership Dallas class of 2019.

Renita added, “Often children who experience neglect and abuse are in the shadows when they need our love and support the most. The Chick Lit Luncheon is an opportunity to shine a light and bring awareness to urgent needs of the children in our community today and spark a fire in us to support the frontline work that Community Partners of Dallas does to bring healing to our children so they can thrive tomorrow.”

Joining Errika and Renita as underwriter co-chairs for the luncheon are Bonner Allen, Rhonda Sargent Chambers, Kheana Pollard and Kim Stephens-Olusanya and Raffle Chair Elizabeth Ward Creel.

Sponsorships for the fundraiser will be available Thursday, July 7.

Oh, about the celebrity speaker? That reveal will be made in the days ahead. Stay tuned.
