Thursday’s 50 MPH Hat-Blowing Winds Are Calming Down For A Weekend OF Activities

Apr 8, 2022 1:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

With Thursday’s winds blowing skirts embarrassingly waist-ward and closing car doors before the driver stepped in, the good news is that starting Friday the blowhards are calming down for the weekend activities with temps ideal for sandals, sundresses and shorts.

In addition to taking in all the artsy venues like the Dallas Arts Fair and the Klyde Warren Park dance and fitness  activities, the last weekend of the Dallas Arboretum’s “Dallas Blooms” will take full advantage of the beautiful weather and hint about the weddings, graduations and Mother’s Day celebrations to come.

Be forewarned that early next week sunshine attire, pedicure-showing sandals and sunscreen might want to take a back row to bumbershoots, raincoats and galoshes. Starting Monday, things are predicted to go wet and wild with thunder until mid-week.

But let’s look at the positive side. The rain could really help, since North Texas is being described as high and dry and could use a good shower to damper drought conditions.

And, yes, thanks to the gloomy weather, it’s a great time to hunker down with your accountant with tax filings due Monday, April 18.
