Time and time again the word has been that the perks of underwriting and sponsorship are treasures. Tonight the Genesis Women’s Shelter Luncheon patron party was a perfect example. As if being hosted by Rusty and Bill Duvall wasn’t enough with their fabulous Park Cities home, there was a surprise guest.
Yup, Thursday’s featured speaker at the Hilton Anatole, Michael Bolton, popped in to meet folks and to tell them that his own program against women’s violence was largely due to his having so many women in his life — his mother, his daughters and his granddaughters.
He also did a tip of the hat to Genesis CEO Jan Langbein, saying that her drive made him feel like he hadn’t done enough despite his Michael Bolton Charities‘ unwavering mission to “make a difference in people’s lives, support organizations on the frontlines of the struggle against domestic violence and to give women and children dealing with trauma a real chance for a better life” for more than three decades.
