Community Partners Of Dallas CEO Paige McDaniel’s 20th Anniversary Celebration Sparkled

Apr 8, 2022 9:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

It was 17 years ago that Sandy and Barry Moore were set up on a blind date. A year later they were married. Are they still speaking to the “friends” who arranged the date? The parents of four laughed and said, “Yes!”

While Sandy and Barry were being set up, Paige McDaniel was in her third year of commandeering Community Partners of Dallas.

So what was the thread that connected the Moores with CPD President/CEO Paige? It was actually two threads — volunteering and helping children in need.

For the Moores, they’ve raised their four kids almost from the stroller to hand out food and help others. For Paige, it was a commitment to not just run CPD, but to grow it to today’s powerhouse program helping children in Child Protective Services take their first steps into a brighter future.

So it was natural that the Sandy and Barry and CPD would get together by hosting Chick Lit authors at their home and that their kids would raise gangbuster funds for CPD’s Change Is Good challenge.

But on Thursday, March 24, it was a true celebration filling the Moores’ home to celebrate Paige’s 20th anniversary year at CPD.

The lady of the hour was decked out with a sunburst crown that Lady Liberty would have envied. However, the heady look proved a bit challenging. While hugging Paige, guests found themselves ducking the spikes. On the table where Chick Lit author Emily Giffin had signed books, there was a cake to celebrate Paige’s 20th anniversary

And speaking of the guests, the crowd was a blend of all things philanthropic, from CPD board members to North Texas foundation and charitable representatives. But from all appearances they were also all Paige’s friends including Debbie Oates, Margo Goodwin, Kristi Bare, Joanna Clarke, Joe B. Clark, Elizabeth Gambrell, Katie Robbins, Harriet Boorhem, Jamie Williams and Christie Carter (fresh from co-chairing The Salvation Army of North Texas’ “Doing The Most Good Luncheon” and taking “a breather” from fundraising)… When asked how retirement was going, former Family Place CEO Paige Flink declared “every day is Saturday”… Candace Winslow with husband John Winslow, who was back in action after a major healthcare scare. He laughed that Candace wouldn’t let him stay in bed too long… Newlyweds Monica and Brent Christopher arrived separately due to prior commitments. Brent reported that their Saturday, March 19, wedding date was a stroke of luck, with the weather being perfect. When asked if Children’s Medical Center Foundation President Brent and Communities Foundation of Texas Senior VP/Chief Giving and Community Impact Officer Monica ever discussed business after hours, Brent quickly raised his hands to his ears and signaled “No way!”
