Two North Texas museums came together for the Dallas Museum of Art League‘s Lone Star Monarchs Art In Bloom patron party on Friday, March 4. The Perot Museum of Nature And Science hosted the cocktail reception for patrons of the Dallas Museum of Art fundraiser that would take place the following Monday. The common thread for the two museums located on opposite sides of Woodall Rodgers was Art In Bloom speaker Paula Crevoshay, whose exquisite jewelry was on display in the Perot’s Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall. Here’s a report from the field:
Lone Star Monarchs Art in Bloom 2022 Chair Sila Grogan, Co-Chair Pat McDonough and Honorary Chair Peggy Sewell were joined by nearly 100 patrons and committee members at a cocktail reception held in their honor on Friday, March 4, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. hosted by the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
As guests arrived they were greeted with a glass of champagne before ascending to the third floor Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall. Once inside, party-goers mingled while perusing the beautiful exhibition, “The Shape of Matter – Through An Artist’s Eye,” which featured the stunning jewelry designs of Art in Bloom keynote speaker Paula Crevoshay.
Midway through the evening the crowd including Bill Grogan, John McDonough, Martin Bell, Linda Silver, Patron Party Chair Betty and James Baird, Barbara and Bob Bigham, Natalie Taylor, Barbara Boettigheimer, Tara Freeman, Joni Krieg, Lilli Braniff, Janis Cravens, Fran Cashen, Patti Jo Turner, Therese and Chris Rourk, Dyann and John Skelton, Regina Bruce, Carla Russo, Elizabeth Gunby and Sheila and Frank Durante gathered for brief remarks. Sila thanked everyone for attending and also extended her gratitude to both the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) and the Perot Museum for working together to make the evening possible. She then recognized Paula, who was presented with a gift by DMA Eugene McDermott Director Agustín Arteaga and DMA Chief Development Officer Cynthia Calabrese. Calabrese also thanked Sila and Pat for their tireless efforts for the annual Dallas Museum of Art League fundraiser, Art in Bloom.
Sila closed by thanking the many patrons who had made this year’s event possible, including Title Sponsor Lone Star Monarchs and Presenting Sponsors The Adleta Corporation and Debbie Heller Myers. She then introduced Honorary Chair Peggy Sewell who was presented with a stunning bouquet of flowers.
DMA League President Jan Clay closed by echoing her gratitude to all, and adding that she looked forward to seeing everyone at Art in Bloom on Monday, March 7.
