After winding through the Hall Arts Hotel via elevator, taking turns through the Ellie’s Restaurant and Lounge and then traipsing down stairways and hallways, guests of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League 2022 Symphony Debutantes Holiday Tea found it was well worth the journey on Thursday, December 16.

In the Grand Hall overlooking the Dallas Arts District, Event Chair Cynthia Beaird had arranged for beautifully decorated Christmas trees adjacent to a buffet for nearly 75 debs and their mothers including Rene Edwards and daughter Katherine Edwards and mom Jennifer Marvel with daughter Brooke Marvel.

DSOL President Venise Stuart and DSOL Presentation Ball Chair Elizabeth Gambrell reported that there will be 48 debs bowing on the stage of the Meyerson Symphony Center on Saturday, February 12. Some of the debs were to have made their bows the year before, but due to the COVID cancellation, they simply postponed their debuts.
DSOL Deb vet mom Laura Downing looked at ease. In addition to daughter/2022 deb Katherine Downing, Laura was proud of daughter/2016 deb Caroline Downing, who was now president of the Dallas Symphony Assembly. According to Laura and Katherine, the final fitting of Katherine’s gown was just hours away. As for Downing patriarch Jason Downing, he would dusting off the white tie and tails that he wore for Caroline’s bow.
