After all the holiday hoopla simmers down, January tends to be rather ho-hum. But the ChildCareGroup folks are taking full advantage of the lull by holding its 12th Annual Great Adventure Hunt on Friday, January 21.
Presented by PepsiCo, this year’s Co-Chairs Rebecca Acuna and Texas State Rep. Rafael Anchia have arranged for a set of Escape Room-like puzzles throughout The Statler Hotel for teams of six to solve.
The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception, a seated dinner and then it’s games on with the teams receiving a Clue Bag to tackle a series of elaborately constructed puzzles around the hotel. To win, it will take teamwork, gray matter and swift work. Prizes will be awarded to the teams that solve the most puzzles fastest.
Funds from the event will support ChildCareGroup’s mission of providing “support services for parents to help the entire family thrive.”
According to Rebecca, “PepsiCo knows that we can impact our city’s future by providing access to quality early-childhood education. Through our Southern Dallas Thrives initiative, we have prioritized high-quality care which in turn offers mothers a chance to enter the workforce. This early start for kids helps to lift the entire families, communities and our economy.”
Despite last year’s Hunt presented by PNC Bank taking place virtually due to COVID restrictions, the event provided more than $200,000 for ChildCareGroup. Needless to say, with the event being in-person, the goal is to pass the $300,000 mark.
Because of the impact of COVID upon such fundraising in the past year-and-a-half, fundraisers are rearing to get back in action.
As Rafael put it, “The pandemic decimated child care in Texas, reducing capacity by an estimated 50% and limiting the ability of parents, especially mothers, to return to the workforce. ChildCareGroup is rebuilding our child care infrastructure and supporting Texas families so every child has the right start in life, no matter their ZIP code in Dallas.”
So, get your teammates and join the fun here.
