According to The Salvation Army of North Texas‘ Doing The Most Good Luncheon Co-Chairs Christie Carter and Margaret Hancock,

“It is an honor to work with The Salvation Army in making a positive difference in the lives of so many in our community. We are especially grateful for community support through the annual ‘Doing the Most Good’ Annual Luncheon.
“The annual luncheon is the primary fundraiser for The Salvation Army of North Texas. Each year, it raises nearly $1.8 million of critical support, which helps fund The Salvation Army’s operations across the region throughout the entire year.
“With an uncertain Christmas season among of us and increasing demand for our services due to the economic ramifications of the pandemic, your support is truly needed. This year, more than ever, we humbly ask that you consider making a contribution.
“As the region’s largest provider of social services, The Salvation Army of North Texas has remained on the front lines serving those in need. The Army continues to provide food, shelter, financial support, spiritual care, and more. Since March 2020, The Salvation Army of North Texas has provided:
- “More than 11.6 million nutritious meals
- “Over 520,000 nights of shelter to the most vulnerable in our communities
- “Pastoral care to more than 84,000 North Texans
- “Nearly $9 million in financial assistance to over 30,000 individuals
“After a hiatus due to the pandemic in 2020, we are pleased to announce that The Salvation Army ‘Doing the Most Good’ Annual Luncheon will be returning on Wednesday, March 9, at the Hilton Anatole. We are thrilled to have New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Land as our Keynote Speaker. Her memoir is portrayed in the hit Netflix miniseries, Maid.
“Stephanie will share her inspirational story of triumph over poverty, homelessness, and her escape from an abusive relationship, all while caring for her young daughter. Stories like Stephanie’s are those that The Salvation Army sees daily. Your support will enable transformation in the lives of tens of thousands of men, women, and children in our community.
“This year, with an increase in demand for services and an uncertain Christmas fundraising season, The Salvation Army needs your support more than ever. Individuals and companies, which have opened their hearts and wallets, sustain and enable us to serve “the least of these.” Working together we will continue bringing hope and healing to men, women and children throughout our community during an extremely challenging time.
“Please join us in supporting the great work of The Salvation Army of North Texas. We know this crisis has had a monumental impact on so many, and we are honored to have the opportunity to serve and provide hope to those who need it
