According to Vine And Dine Co-Chairs Kara Sewell and Kimber Westphall Clonts,
“Ability Connection’s mission is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities…one person at a time.
“After careful consideration, we chose to postpone the 13th Annual Vine And Dine until Thursday, February 24, at The Hall on Dragon. This was not an easy decision. However, given the ongoing COVID-19 concerns, we felt it necessary. Our new mantra is ‘New Date, Same Mission!’
“The Vine And Dine event will be at The Hall on Dragon. This ‘can’t-miss-event’ is the launch to Ability Connection’s critical ‘New Beginning’ campaign to raise funds to serve even more people with disabilities. There is not a better way to become a part of Ability Connection and the community they serve.
“The 2022 Vine And Dine event will be an inspired evening full of surprise and delights throughout the evening including unique food stations, a 360-photo booth, live music, a live auction and a conversation with Annemarie Carrigan. Annemarie is a young millennial woman with Down Syndrome living independently in Dallas.
“Annemarie is a graduate of Highland Park High School and the University of Central Missouri’s Thrive Program and currently has her dream job working for Dupree Miller And Associates. Her story continues to inspire us and motivates to make the Vine And Dine event a great fund-raising and awareness event for Ability Connection.
“Very special thanks to the dedicated committee members who have continued to support the project: Daniela Acosta, Feleceia Benton, Kimberly Borges, Kim Ciocan, Leah Frazier, Alexia P. Hammonds, Angela Keefer, Miriam McDonald, Emily Walsh Potts, Emma Spencer, Christina Thompson, Jennifer Tjaden, Anna Wortham and Christiana Yebra.
“Many other disability agencies did not survive the pandemic, which has led to an influx of calls seeking the services of Ability Connection. Your support of Vine And Dine ensures that they continue to provide critical support to this overlooked population. Please contact [email protected] or call 214.351.2500, ext. 2265.”
