The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is world-renowned for its natural beauty thanks to its native plants making all visitors feel right at home in its natural setting of native plants. So one just might consider Lady Bird Johnson’s daughter Luci Baines Johnson is just like the Center — she makes everyone feel right at home just being with her.
On Monday, October 26, the Dallas Arboretum’s Great Contributors supper showcased Luci’s personality and wealth of memories of her life as daughter of the late President Lyndon Baines Johnson and First Lady Bird.
Before receiving the Great Contributor Award, she and writer Rena Pederson chatted about her parents and the days in the White House to the delight of guests including Mary McDermott Cook with Dan Patterson, Caren and Pete Kline, Wildflower Center architect Tim Bonkvist, Jane and Jim Ryan, Joan and Alan Walne, Cindy and Charles Feld, Elizabeth Robertson with David Nichols, Sue and Phil John and Susan and Addison Wilson.
