Equest’s Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon/Fashion Show Check Needed A Bit Of Tweaking

When Equest’s Women’s Auxiliary President Katie Layton and her mom/2021 Auxiliary Luncheon and Fashion Show Chair Beth Layton arrived at Highland Park Village’s Mockingbird Room yesterday, their plan was to present the check for $240,000 resulting from the October fundraiser with Highland Park Village fashions on the runway at Brook Hollow.

Christine Volkmer, Victoria Snee, Beth Layton, Katie Layton, Lili Kellogg and Jacquie Maddox

However, it seems the number on the check wasn’t quite correct. Much to the surprise of Equest CEO Lili Kellogg, Community Engagement Director Christine Volkmer, Equest Development Director Jacquie Maddox and HPV Chief Marking Officer Victoria Snee, the total had changed before the ink on the check had even dried. Thanks to an additional $5,000 coming in, the total was now $245,000.

Thanks to these funds and other financial support, Equest is “back in the saddle” providing equine therapy at Texas Horse Park.
