While MySweetCharity doesn’t cover golf tournaments, it certainly doesn’t pass up a breathtaking check presentation. In this case it was the Dallas CASA Classic presented by Pioneer Natural Resources, Goldman Sachs and AT&T. Postponed from last spring to this past October, the fundraiser took places at two courses — the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas and the Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine.

Described as “a game changer” for the advocacy program, the ” largest single-day, non-PGA sponsored golf tournament in the nation” drew just about 600 participants from around the country with the remarkable results of handing over a check for $1.5M to Dallas CASA CEO/President Kathleen LaValle.
According to Kathleen, “The transformational impact this golf tournament has had on our agency simply cannot be overstated. Today, Dallas CASA is able to accept court appointments to serve every child who needs an advocate and we serve more children with volunteer advocates than any of the other 900 plus CASA organizations nationwide. Scaling up to and sustaining that program capacity would not have been possible without the Dallas CASA Classic. Because of this tournament, more children will grow up in safe, loving homes where they can thrive and reach their full potentials.”
Since its inception in 1998, the tournament has provided more than $22.1M to “support Dallas CASA’s capacity to advocate for more abused and neglected children growing from serving 407 children in 1998 to 3,374 in 2020.”
