When it comes to artwork, one much ignored group consists of the talented folks who put together table-settings. Monday night one oaf shrugged, asking, “What’s the big deal?” But anyone who has settled down for a marvelous meal knows that, just like a masterpiece work of art, food requires the ideal surroundings.
So, the Dallas Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association had works of art by designers like John Phifer Marrs displayed throughout the Dallas Country Club tonight for its Tablescapes by Candlelight with a guest list including Debbie Oates, Linda Perryman Evans, Beverly Franckhauser and James Campbell with his mom Louann Pearson.

It was all to warm up the setting for the next day’s 2021 Tablescapes with the presentation of the Platinum Key Award to SMU Kappa Peggy (Higgins) Sewell.

As Co-Chairs Anne Mann, Cathy McEachern and Lacy Schultz hustled about with last-minute materials, Peggy told Tablescapes Founder Louise Griffeth that the trio had been at the top of their game in planning the fundraiser benefiting Angel Flight South Central, Aspire, Attitudes And Attire, Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, Camp John Marc, Jonathan’s Place, Juliette Fowler Communities, The Salvation Army, St. Philip’s School And Community Center, The Warren Center and Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
And, one insider hinted that there was a surprise still in store for the Tuesday luncheon and chat with lifestyle author Alex Hitz.
