The Spirit of Taos Co-Chairs Karrie Bato, Ida Gleaton and Lindsay Morris kicked off the Wilkinson Center fundraiser at the perfect spot to get guests in the mood for north New Mexico style partying. With Deep Ellum’s Flea Shop owner Brittany Cobb customizing Taos-style chapeaus, it was the ideal opportunity to pick up the accessory du jour for the sold-out fundraiser on Friday, October 15, at Arts District Mansion. Here’s a report from the field:
The Friends of Wilkinson Center welcomed nearly 30 supporters, including committee members, to The Spirit of Taos Kick-off Party held at Flea Style in Deep Ellum on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Event Co-Chairs Karrie Cato, Ida Gleaton and Lindsey Morris, Honorary Co-Chairs Holly Greef and Carlin and Charles Morris, Friends President Caitlin Hyatt and executive director Anne Reeder welcomed partygoers like past Friends President Meridith Zidell and her husband Jeremy Zidell, Paul Corley, Mike Hyatt, Lindsay and Charlie Morris, Robert Cato, Katie and Sam Peck, Cheryl and Lynn Eskridge, Sydney Eskridge and Jeanne Athos-Adler and Michael Adler as they mingled while enjoying light bites and wine.
Guests also shopped Flea Style’s vintage-inspired clothing, accessories, jewelry and home collections, knowing a percentage of proceeds would benefit Wilkinson Center. Shop owner Brittany Cobb stayed busy customizing the store’s signature hats – the perfect accessory for the upcoming Taos-inspired fundraiser.
The Spirit of Taos presented by Reliant will be held on Friday, October 15, at the Arts District Mansion (formerly Belo Mansion) and will include cocktails, a seated dinner, silent and live auctions, and live entertainment – all inspired by Taos, New Mexico. The inimitable WFAA-TV sports anchor Dale Hansen will serve as this year’s emcee.
