According Allies in Youth Development Social Media Manager/Development Associate Frederick Tran,
“In a recent visit this summer to an orphanage Allies in Youth Development serves in Ukraine, our volunteer team abroad provided a masterclass in hot dog making. Orphans are often left to fend for themselves once they age out of an orphanage at the age of sixteen so our mentoring program tries to provide orphans with simple, easy-to-make meals that they can prepare on their own. Our programs aim to equip orphans with the skills and a career path needed to survive in the world.

“North Texas Giving Day gifts have helped provide a month of mentoring to 400 orphans with programs similar to the hot dog masterclass all over Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. The Allies Mentoring Program provides educational opportunities for orphans, build relational bridges, and teach them basic life skills that will help them become more prepared for life outside the orphanage. With your help, we can expand our programming to provide mentoring to orphans across the 16 countries we serve around the world.”
