According to Community Partners of Dallas President/CEO Paige McDaniel,
“Community Partners of Dallas is gearing up for our upcoming 15th Annual Chick Lit Luncheon on Friday, September 24, at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. While we have just announced a change regarding our featured speaker Goldie Hawn, who will now be joining us on ‘the big screen’ instead of in person due to COVID concerns, everything our friends and supporters have come to expect from the Chick Lit Luncheon will still be in place. We hope the community will still plan to join us in person for a wonderful reunion of friends, fabulous fashion, delicious desserts, touching stories of the children served by CPD and all the fun you expect. We cannot wait to be together, safely, and to host our single favorite day of the year! As our largest annual fundraiser, these funds are critical in providing support and services to Dallas County’s abused and neglected children and we simply could not be more grateful to our sponsors and agency supporters.
“We will of course continue to monitor all CDC guidelines and work very closely with the Anatole on all safety protocols, continuing to update process as needed as the event gets closer to ensure that all guests and staff remain safe.

“An additional luncheon highlight will be the recognition of the Peggy and Carl Sewell Jr. family with our 2021 Partners for Children Award, given to individuals and organizations who have shown an ongoing commitment to the philanthropic needs of our community and whose years of service meet the needs of abused and neglected children.
“The Sewell family and Sewell Automotive Companies have generously supported Community Partners of Dallas for many years through our fundraising events and beyond. While the Sewell brand is renowned for its exceptional customer service, they are equally committed and supportive of their community partners. We are abundantly grateful for all they do to help the abused and neglected children in Dallas County take their first steps to healing.
“Past recipients of the Partners for Children Award include Linda Perryman Evans and The Meadows Foundation; Jan Rees-Jones; the Bitzer and Needleman Families and Peacock Alley; Jill C. Bee; ORIX Foundation; Junior League of Dallas; Mersina Stubbs; Lynn McBee; The Container Store; Fidelity Investments; Cheers for Charity; Northwood Woman’s Club and Attorneys Serving the Community.
“Chaired by Claire Emanuelson with Pat McEvoy as honorary chair, the 15th annual Chick Lit Luncheon will be held on September 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hilton Anatole featuring a virtual appearance of Academy Award-winning actress, New York Times bestselling author, producer, director, and true children’s advocate Goldie Hawn.
