When it comes to screens, Goldie Hawn is a pro. From her giggling and dancing days on “Laugh-In” to her bringing smiles via movie films like “Seems Like Old Times,” “Overboard” and “The First Wives Club,” she simply sparkles.
That’s why news of her having to transition from an in-person appearance to an on-screen attendance for the 2021 Chick Lit Luncheon won’t take the wind out of the sails for Community Partners of Dallas’ biggest fundraiser on Friday, September 24.
The reason for the change of plans is due to the 75-year-old actress’ “Covid concerns for herself and her family.”
Alas, poor Goldie is gonna miss out on checking out the hundreds of cute guests who will be attending the in-person luncheon at the Hilton Anatole to support CPD’s mission to “provide what abused children urgently need today to thrive tomorrow.”
According to CPD President/CEO Paige McDaniel, “While not having Goldie with us in person is certainly not how we envisioned this year’s Chick Lit Luncheon, we are still committed to hosting our largest annual fundraiser while keeping safety top of mind. Proceeds from the luncheon provide critical support to the important programs we provide to the abused and neglected children in Dallas County throughout the year. The pandemic has hit our families especially hard. Now more than ever our kids are counting on us, and we are so grateful to the community for their ongoing support. We look forward to seeing everyone on September 24!”
Chick Lit organizers will “continue to monitor all CDC guidelines and work very closely with the Anatole on all safety protocols, continuing to update them as needed as the event gets closer to ensure that all guests and staff remain safe.”
So find the cutest outfit with matching mask, gather your pals and reserve a table to spend lunchtime with Goldie.
