Despite The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s having to cancel its big fundraising 2021 Fashion Show and Luncheon, 2021 Event Chair Kim Hext didn’t let a little thing like the pandemic get in her way. In addition to picking up loads of fabulous clothes from the area’s finest closets and handing them over for 2022 Fashion Show Chair Nikki Webb’s effort, Kim was determined to find a way to provide funds for The Salvation Army of North Texas.

Thanks to the improvised virtual Spring Tea with an online silent auction of top-drawer accessories like sunglasses, handbags and fuzzy charms in May, $520K in grants was provided to “help North Texans combat poverty, addiction and homelessness across the five-county region.”
In response to Kim’s and the Auxiliary’s efforts, Area Commander Major Bethany Hawks remarked, “We are so grateful for the dedication of our Women’s Auxiliary members to raise vital funds to support those we serve in North Texas.”
In addition to the news of the fundraising, it was also officially announced that Elizabeth Gambrell and Jennifer Dix will serve as the Women’s Auxiliary 2021-2022 president and president-elect, respectively.
