The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary‘s 2021 Fashion Show and Luncheon Chair Kim Hext may have had to cancel the annual fashion show because of that dang pandemic, but she’s turning the old “tea for two” into “two for tea.”
She wasn’t giving up on providing funds for the Salvation Army of North Texas and decided to have a virtual Spring Tea at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, hosted by the Executive Committee of the Women’s Auxiliary.
According to Women’s Auxiliary President Lisa Singleton, “We knew planning a safe way for people to virtually gather and support The Salvation Army of North Texas was our priority. We encourage our supporters and past Fashion Show and Luncheon attendees to attend virtually [the tea] or to make a donation to make a difference.”
SAWA Co-Founder Margot Perot has already signed on as an Emerald sponsor.
In addition to the virtual teatime, the guests get a second treat — an online auction of a collection of treasured handbags and accessories. How treasured? Well, how about a little name-dropping — Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Hermes and Loro Piana to name just a few?
So, if you want to sip tea and bid, then you’d better sign up ASAP. Tickets are going for $300 with sponsorships starting at $3,000.
In addition to Margot, other sponsors already on board include:
- Gold — Anonymous, Mary Clare Finney, Carolyn and Karl Rathjen and Elizabeth Wahlquist
- Pearl — Kim Hext, Judy Gibbs, Linda and Mike McMahon and Jere Thompson
- Bronze — Nancy Bierman, Barbara Brice, Sarah Freeman, Elizabeth Gambrell, Cele Johnsen, Melinda Knowles, Sara Martineau, Rita Millwee, Kay Preddy, Carol Seay, Jennifer Stanton, JoAnna Turner, Toni Turmer and Candace Winslow
The clock is ticking and the bid watching is gonna be very entertaining.
