MySweetCharity Photo Gallery Alert!: 2020 And 2021 Crystal Charity Ball Newbies Reception

May 13, 2021 5:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

Noontime at Highland Park Village looked like a luxury car lot on a slow day. The vehicles were top-drawer, but they weren’t budging and finding a parking place was like searching for a contact lens in a shag rug. So the ladies of Crystal Charity Ball had two options in attending the new members get-together at Carolina Herrera — valet or take a workout on their stilettos after a year for flats.

The glut of traffic definitely trumped COVID-19 for topic of the day as 2020 new members Lindsay Ballotta, Kim Hext, Amanda Shufeldt and Wendy Messmann sans Jennifer Chandler along with 2021 newbies Kristi Francis, Melinda Knowles, Lisa Shirley, Candace Swango, Charmaine Tang and Kay Weeks were officially welcomed to the fold.

Before the introductions got underway, Herrera General Manager Morgan Williams had models showing the latest lineup created by Herrera designer Wes Gordon and told 2021 CCB Chair Leslie Diers that it was so good to once again see people out and about.

Other chit-chat making the rounds was 2007 CCB Chair Vicki “Vivi” Chapman telling 2022 CCB Chair Susan Farris that she had almost finished her duties as stylist for less-than-a-year-old granddaughter Lucille Bellamare… 2013 CCB Chair Caren Kline was showing photos of the newest member of the Kline household — an eight-month-old blonde Lab named Buck… Marie Dean reported that Camp John Marc was not only launching its annual Campership Drive, but was also celebrating its 30 years of serving 74,000 campers and their families… 2016 CCB Chair Christie Carter was transitioning from a highly successful role as 2021 Callier Cares underwriting chair to co-chairing the 2021 Each Moment Matters with Beth and Dan Plumlee and Junior Villanueva.

Soon it was time for the presentation of the newbies with 2021 New Member Liaisons Janie Condon and Jennifer Dix wrangling their six together. Then it was either hike to their parked cars or stand by for valet delivery. The lesson of the day was when heading to the Village around noontime, don’t forget to pack an extra dose of patience.
