You just thought winter was finished impacting North Texas. Tuesday is gonna change your mind when a dry, cold front arrives on the doorstep just after noon.

What is a dry, cold front? It’s dry because the front that’s overnighting in Colorado right now will not be accompanied by any rain.
But don’t be deceived by noontime Tuesday, when the temperature will be 68 degrees. From that point temperatures will drumbeat down with overnight temperatures possibly hitting record temperatures of 40 degrees. And the outlying areas may even flirt with the 30s. Some weather guessers are already injecting the expression “freeze watch” in their forecasts.
So, whether you live in Aubrey or Bryan Place, protect those new buds that were just starting to bloom, invite the pets in for a sleepover and pull out your duvet. Don’t be surprised if you wake up to frost on roofs and cars Wednesday morning.
But don’t get used to it. Sunday is supposed to rise to the 80s.
